NO BARRIERS SUMMIT NYC TRACKS

The No Barriers Summit NYC offers a selection of specialized “tracks” created to form a greater sense of community for specific interest groups. Joining a track allows you to participate in all No Barriers Summit experiences while partaking in exclusive offerings during Friday’s schedule of afternoon Elective Activities and more. Joining a track happens during Registration.

Sponsored by Coors Light, the No Barriers Women’s Track is open to females, 21 years or older, of the Class of 2018 and includes an exclusive happy hour on Thursday, October 4.

Connect with women and be inspired by entrepreneurs and leaders who will encourage you to dream bigger and push further. The No Barriers Women’s Track will introduce you to a community — your Rope Team — who will help you overcome barriers and encourage you to support others along their journey.

Session 2: Women’s Roundtable Panel

What is your vision? Join a panel of inspiring women that will help you discover your purpose, hone in on your vision, and lead a fulfilling life.

This panel will be moderated by Inkwell Press founder, Tonya Dalton (@inkWELLPress), who is a productivity expert that will help you to realize the important tasks in your life, and to let go of unimportant tasks.

Panelists include Sarah Herron (@SarahHerron), who gained her notoriety on ABC’s The Bachelor for being the first contestant with a physical disability, and is the founder of SheLift, which offers once-in-a-lifetime experiential retreats for girls with physical differences.

Sarah will be joined by Marshawn Evans Daniels (@MarshawnEvans), who earned her fame on NBC’s The Apprentice, as well as Miss America, will lead you to live your life without limits, realize your true purpose, and to Believe Bigger.

Dorothy Beal, creator of the I RUN THIS BODY (@IRunThisBody) brand and creator and contributor of the blog MilePosts (@MilePosts), will be joining this amazing group of women and inspiring you to be your best self.

This panel will conclude with a hands on activity that will help you use your newfound skills and discover your potential!

Do you have a body? Then this class is for you! Join Whitney Way Thore, star of TLC’s My Big Fat Fabulous Life, as she leads you and your fellow Women’s Track participants through an upbeat dance class for ANY-body! Whitney founded No Body Shame in 2014, a global movement designed to help people of every variety live their lives fully, passionately, and free of shame. Dance without shame, work through your personal summits, and enjoy everything that your body can accomplish.

WOMEN’S TRACK WARRIORS TRACK YOUTH AND EDUCATOR TRACK

 

Bringing together veterans with disabilities from all branches of the military and eras of service, the No Barriers Warriors Track focuses on how to build strong communities after military service ends.

Hear stories of challenge and success from veterans who have been there and done that. With team-building and personal growth activities, along with mentor-led discussions, you’ll benefit from the camaraderie and develop relationships in both veteran and civilian communities.

 

 

 

 

Warriors Track Activities

Session 2: Building a stronger community together

Moderator: John Toth

Guest Speaker: TBD

Join us for an engaging and insightful presentation by a fellow veteran who struggled to find a supportive community after leaving the service. Hear how that challenged them personally and how they were able to succeed in finding a rope team to face life’s challenges with. Following the presentation, engage in some individual reflection and group discussions with your team, sharing success and challenge and exploring new ways to develop a stronger rope team of your own.

Session 3: Warrior’s Team Building

During your third activity, you will be joined by your fellow Warrior Track participants in a variety of team building activities that will strengthen your rope team, and build your Summit community. Activities will include a variety of team building exercises, including a blindfold walk, meditation, drum circle, and a transformational rope activity.

 

 


 

WOMEN’S TRACK WARRIORS TRACKYOUTH AND EDUCATOR TRACK

Participating students and educators from partner schools and organizations will have exclusive access to the No Barriers Youth and Educator Track.

You’ll learn how to apply the No Barriers Life as an educational framework that gives people tools to break through barriers, unleash individual and collective potential, and have a positive impact on the world.

Join us for an engaging panel of inspiring speakers who will share their own stories of how they harnessed their passions to elevate others. The speakers on our panel will provide thoughtful real world examples of innovative action that has made important differences in our world. Learn from them about diverse ways that potential–for individuals and the collective–can be unleashed. The panel will also highlight winners of our 2017 Global Impact Challenge, a nationwide competition for students to address an issue related to Diversity and Inclusion in their community. We will conclude by sending you off to complete your very own Global Impact Project!
