We are seeking a CFO with  responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of No Barriers. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, audit, financial control compliance,  financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting,  strategic planning and analysis, and legal compliance.   Salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Lead all financial operations, including cash management, banking relationships/funding structure, and financial planning and analysis
    • Manage, support and systematically review tasks performed by the No Barriers Finance team 
    • Ensure compliance with all GAAP and IRS rules for nonprofit organizations
    • Develop, implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures including internal controls for a wide-ranging set of activities
    • Monitor systems and processes across the organization, identifying areas of concern and implementing solutions
    • Oversee audit and IRS functions including Form 990 process, coordinating activities with outside audit firm and review firm’s performance
    • Oversee payroll function and Cash Disbursement process, coordinating with Human Resources and Dept Directors to ensure salaries, and wages and cash payments are timely and accurate meeting and all legal requirements 
    • Oversee Funding Reserves, revenue recognition and contribution reporting to maximize organization resource application to investments and program initiatives
    • Lead month-end close process including periodic  journal entries, account reconciliation process, and oversight of General Ledger
    • Lead annual budget process and define policy and procedure around making, recording, and reporting budget adjustments
    • Lead, analyze and report financial performance to Management and the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors
    • Provide analysis and recommendations pertaining to potential growth and acquisitions
    • Support departmental needs for variance analysis, financial forecasting,  gap action planning and strategic annual planning
    • Provide reporting, assistance, and guidance as needed
Experience and Qualifications 
  • Minimum 3 years in a Finance Director and/or CFO role with minimum 10 years financial experience.
  • Accounting or Finance degree required, MBA preferred
  • Experience managing organizational budgets of $5+ $10+ million
  • Experience managing employees, leading change, and working effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to be flexible, innovative, action/solution oriented
  • Proven ability to lead growth organizations with diverse sources of income and manage project costing environment
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks software preferred or direct experience using other ERP systems

General Description

This is a programming role within the No Barriers Warriors team. The primary role of this position is to provide support to program participants after they complete a Warriors experience and as they work to achieve goals set during the experience. The MEC will also work with partner non-profit and governmental organizations, and No Barriers USA expedition leaders and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment and training of Alumni Coaches
  • Coordinate and monitor the transition of participants from Phase II to Phase III; (welcome email, Alumni Coach outreach, etc.)
  • Assist participants with the refinement of goals, development of an action plan, and completion of goals set during the Phase II – Transformative Experience portion of the program
  • Supports participants by connecting them with “best-in-class” non-profit partners or providing immediate referral to governmental support services
  • Facilitate regularly scheduled (weekly/monthly/as needed) contact to provide Alumni Coaches  an opportunity to review participant progress, discuss concerns and/or ideas and provide support
  • Facilitate monthly Alumni Coach conference calls
  • Update participant Salesforce accounts by recording account information and maintaining participant records by updating account information

No Barriers Warriors Internship

Overview: No Barriers Warriors, a program of No Barriers USA, is seeking a part time intern. No Barriers provides transformative experiences as part of our mission of “unleashing the potential of the human spirit.”

The No Barriers Warriors program improves the lives of veterans with disabilities through transformative, curriculum-based expeditions in challenging outdoor environments. Each No Barriers Warriors expedition is designed to push veterans mentally and physically in some of nature’s most incredible wilderness settings. We create a safe space and encourage them to reflect on their past, recognize where they are in the present and then look with positivity to the future. These life-changing experiences are offered at no cost to our veterans and include airfare, meals, gear, and a world-class expedition crew. Each expedition is a three-phased journey that includes preparation for the expedition, the expedition, and post-expedition support and integration into the broader No Barriers Warriors community.

Intern Requirements
The intern should be either a student (preferably a student veteran) currently pursuing a degree in Outdoor Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, or a similar field or a veteran seeking civilian work experience to enhance their resume.
